PathLab Medical Laboratories Ltd was awarded HOKLAS accreditation for Medical Testing in Chemistry, Hematology, Immunology and Microbiology disciplines in May, 2006.
Our
laboratory accreditation number is 805S. Since our scope of accredited tests is continually being updated to view a current list of our tests, please view the HKAS website, which lists the tests for which we are accredited on Scope
of Accreditation.
Laboratory accreditation is awarded as a result of a series of stringent on-site inspections by HOKLAS-approved pathologists and scientists from HK and overseas. HOKLAS medical testing standards are based on the requirements of ISO 15189:2007. Inspection of policies, procedures, records, internal Quality Control and External Quality Assurance Programs (EQAP) were all part of the process.
ISO 15189 is now the world-recognized medical
laboratory accreditation standard. It has been adopted
by scores of countries, including Canada, Australia,
NZ and some USA accreditation bodies. HOKLAS has concluded
mutual recognition agreements/arrangements
(MRA) with more than 50 laboratory accreditation bodies.
PathLab went through the medical testing
accreditation process because it wishes to ensure the
highest standard of laboratory results, in order to
provide reliable and accurate diagnostic information
for doctors, and for the care of their patients. It
has served Hong Kong, Kowloon and New Territories physicians,
hospitals and other medically-related institutions for
over 30 years.
