The patient should void bladder, then drink 1 full glass of water & provide a urine sample within one hour. Beta-2-Microglobulin is unstable in acid urine. In lab, aliquot 10 mL urine & adjust the pH immediately with 1M NaOH to 6-8.

Bladder Cancer Markers Profile 膀胱癌指標 CA17 30 mL Ur-rdm-ref, morning specimen. Use NMP22 collection kit. 15 mL Ur & 10 mL Ur in NMP22 stabilizer. Refrigerate. Call lab for NMP22 collection kit. Collect 30 mL of morning urine (but not first void) in the large cup. Use the dropper to transfer about 10 mL of that urine into the NMP collection bottle. Sample colour should be blue/green. Label & send BOTH containers
