This would not have taken place without your overwhelming support over the past three years. 2. It is our pleasure to share with you a newly published paper “Wong, S.S.Y., et al., Brittle tail syndrome is anemerging infection in horses caused by a keratinolytic fungus Equicapillimyces hongkongenis gen. nov.,sp. Nov. Vet. Microbiol. (2011), doi:10.1016/j.vetmic.2011.09.024”. This publication symbolized the successful outcome of a collaborative research effort between the Hong Kong Jockey Club Veterinary Department, the Department of Microbiology of University of Hong Kong and PathLab Medical Laboratories with the identification of a novel fungal agent in the equine species.
