1. The organism formerly classified as Ureaplasma urealyticum has been genetically reclassified into two distinct species, Ureaplasma parvum and Ureaplasma urealyticum. As these species cannot be phenotypically differentiated by culture-based methods, results are reported collectively as Ureaplasma species.
2. Antimicrobial susceptibility testing is performed and reported at the Ureaplasma species level, without differentiation between individual species.
