Reference Notes and Guidelines

1. This test may not detect upper GI bleeding, but has high specificity for lower GI bleeding.

2. Due to its high sensitivity, samples should not be collected during or until three days after a menstrual period, during the presence of bleeding hemorrhoids or blood in the urine.

3. Positive results should be correlated with clinical observations. Repeat sample collection if necessary.

4. Cutoff of 100 ng/mL is based on HKSAR Colorectal Cancer Screening Program (2016).
