Reference Notes and Guidelines

Reference notes :

1. A "Detected" result indicates that the DNA of the corresponding bacterium has been identified.

2. A "Not detected" result indicates that the DNA of the corresponding bacterium was not identified. False-negative results may occur due to improper specimen collection, concurrent antibiotic therapy, or a low bacterial load in the specimen (i.e., below the assay's limit of detection). Repeat testing is recommended if clinically indicated.

3. An "Indeterminate" or "Inhibitor present" result may be caused by interfering substances, such as PCR inhibitors. Repeat testing is recommended if clinically indicated.

4. All target organisms have a limit of detection of 700 copies/mL and a specificity greater than 99%.
